The Toba Foundation
Bonao, Dominican Republic

Restoring hope and dignity to children with disabilities.

The Toba Foundation funds therapeutic care — occupational, physical, and speech therapy, behavioral support, and developmental evaluations — for children whose families have nowhere else to turn.

Named for the first child we set out to help

Every child we serve is made in the image of God, carrying dignity that no diagnosis can diminish. That conviction is the whole reason this ministry exists — and it began with one boy.

Cristobal, whom we call "Toba," lives in a remote mountain community in Bonao. He is blind, autistic, non-verbal, and likely living with additional developmental delays. He was the first child we sought to help — and yet, because his village is so difficult to reach, he has received the least consistent care of anyone in our program. It was in searching for a way to help him that our founder discovered how much greater the need was throughout the surrounding community. The Toba Foundation was created in direct response.

Every gift, accounted for

Good stewardship is inseparable from good ministry. Here is how we safeguard every dollar given:

  • Every case is personally vetted, with in-person visits to children and families.
  • Funds are paid directly to therapy providers — never to families, and never through us.
  • Every disbursement requires three-point verification, reviewed by at least two independent representatives.
